Gavin Ruschin

The mystery and allure of diamonds captured our imagination long before we ever imagined building a business around them. Years later, that fascination became a reality.

In 1996, Alon began his career in the diamond industry, working for a well-established diamond cutting house. Over five years, he learned every facet of the business and eventually rose to partner. In January 2000, one of South Africa's largest diamond factories, with direct connections to De Beers, recruited Alon to relocate to Miami and help expand its operations in the USA. For the next five years, Alon travelled to jewellery stores and diamond dealers around the world, building relationships with future clients while deepening his knowledge of the wholesale diamond trade. He couldn't have known at the time that this move to Miami would prove pivotal, laying the groundwork for what would eventually become Ruschin & Co. Diamonds.

Meanwhile, Gavin's career was following its own path. He began by cutting and polishing rough diamonds in a South African factory, and after completing an apprenticeship with one of the country's premier rough-diamond cutting houses, moved into the rough diamond buying market. For five years, he travelled to mining towns across the North West Province, living alongside the diggers and buying rough diamonds directly. The relationships and friendships he built during that time became invaluable, both to his own career and to the future success of Ruschin & Co. Diamonds.

Together, these two paths converged into one shared vision: Ruschin & Co. Diamonds.

Today, we supply diamonds to dealers and jewellery stores around the world, and we're proud of the reputation we've built: respected among peers, trusted by clients, in trading centres across the globe.

Our passion for this industry runs through everything we do. It's a devotion we share with each other, and with the clients and colleagues who've become part of our story along the way.
