Legal
Terms
These terms apply to the ready-to-wear pieces sold through the Ruschin & Co shop, and to booking a consultation with Gavin. Read our shipping and returns and privacy pages alongside this one.
Who we are
Ruschin & Co is a private fine-jewellery house led by Gavin Ruschin, trading from 25 Rudd Road, Illovo, Johannesburg. You can reach us on 082 825 9342 or at info@ruschin.co.za.
Ruschin & Co's full registered company name and registration number are not yet listed here. Confirmed with Gavin before launch.
Prices and VAT
All prices on the site are in South African Rand and include VAT at 15%. We take care to keep prices accurate; if a price is shown incorrectly by mistake we will contact you before proceeding with an order at the wrong price.
Placing an order
Every piece in the shop is described and photographed as accurately as we can manage, and most of what we sell is one of one. Placing an order is an offer to buy, which we accept once your payment has cleared; until then, a piece can still be bought by someone else.
Online payment is processed through our payment provider, Peach Payments, or PayFast where that gateway is used, using the payment methods it offers at the time. Your card details are entered on the provider's own hosted payment page and never reach Ruschin & Co's systems.
Ownership and risk
A piece remains our property until we have received payment for it in full. Risk in the piece, meaning responsibility for loss or damage, passes to you once it is delivered or you collect it.
Cancelling before dispatch
If you need to cancel an order before it has been dispatched or collected, contact us as soon as possible and we will do what we can to help. Our shipping and returns page covers what happens once you have received a piece.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits any right the Consumer Protection Act gives you that cannot lawfully be limited. Beyond that, our liability to you is limited to the price you paid for the piece in question.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of South Africa, and our courts have jurisdiction over any dispute.
Changes to these terms
We may update this page from time to time as the shop develops. The version in force at the time you place an order is the one that applies to it.
